Few will know Fauna, born in 2019 in Austria from the perfect collaboration between a well-known sunglasses brand and a leading Austrian audio company USound with more than 150 active patents.
The main mission of this company is to combine style and elegance with the convenience of being able to answer phone calls, control your assistant (Google or Siri) and listen to your favorite music with your ears completely free.
At the moment there are four different models both male and female with sun lenses or with blue light filter, we tried the Spiro Transparent Brown model with sun lenses.

It is necessary to specify that the shipping packaging is really neat, the package containing the glasses has been perfectly sealed against the weather and packaged adequately in order to be proof of any impact.

Technical Specifications
The dimensions change according to the model but the actual weight always remains 50g for the glasses and 196g for the case / charger.
The anti-blue light lenses (excellent for use at the pc) are ZEISS DuraVision ® while the ZEISS sunglasses tinted 1.8mm, the various frames in Italian acetate allow you to mount different types of prescription lenses by your optician (inside there are also the instructions to be given to the optician).
The audio compartment is offered by the partner company USound and consists of two-way microphones and electrodynamic woofers for each temple, the microphones (two) are equipped with active echo cancellation.
Another peculiarity of these glasses compared to the main competitors is that they have the case that acts directly as a charging powerbank without having to connect the glasses to an external charger each time leaving them exposed; with a single charge (100 mAh battery) they have a standby of about 20 hours and a music playback of 5 hours (which drops to about 4 hours if we stress them with continuous activation of the assistant and playback at high volume), the case has a 1300 mAh battery capable of recharging the glasses in just under 2 hours and front LEDs that indicate the state of charge.
These glasses are IP52 certified (water and dust) and have Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity that can be paired with both Ios and Android devices, the reception is between 9 and 10 meters without obstacles.
Pairing and functions
After removing all plastic packaging and placing the glasses in the case for full charging, just open the case and turn on the bluetooth of our smartphone (or pc), the glasses will enter pairing mode automatically, if this does not happen just close and reopen the case.
A good portion of the side rods acts as touch control dividing the various functions between left and right:
- Double tap left to answer or end calls and play/pause for music
- Long tap left for 4 seconds rejects incoming calls and moves to the next song
- Swipe forward or backward to the left increases or decreases the volume
- Double tap right to answer calls
-Long tap right for 4 seconds to force Bluetooth connection.
Our experience
The quality of the ZEISS lenses is more than known and we have nothing to say about it; the audio sector lives up to expectations by ensuring listening at optimal levels even in the event of medium strong ambient noise or in case of wind, at high volume there is the risk of being able to slightly annoy our neighbors given the possible sound propagation but nothing to worry about.
The microphones behave relatively well with good audio quality, our interlocutors were able to easily understand what we were saying in conditions of medium ambient noise, communication is clear even with a light wind against but not with medium-strong wind.
Thanks to the large surface we have not encountered any problems with the touch control which always remains faithful and does not skip a single tap of the user, even the practically non-existent input lags thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
We recommend the purchase to those who want to focus mainly on the quality of construction and audio, it is difficult to find smart glasses that mount "standard" ZEISS lenses and actually work without lag and control problems.
